SMART DEVELOPMENT
Prior to serving on the City Council and as Mayor, Austin served on Tustin’s Planning Commission. During his time on the Council and Commission, he has deliberated over Tustin’s development and pushed for positive change and progress. Austin has presided over major infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects throughout Tustin. Three strategic development initiatives:

Tustin Legacy: Mayor Lumbard has taken the lead on removing the County from decades of inaction with the North Hangar, pushing forward the development of dynamic office space, and developing vibrant residential communities. He has plans for a dog park and vast open space on the base. Tustin deserves a faster, better plan for the base, and he will fight to get it done.

Revitalize Old Town: Austin will continue to push forward longstanding plans for public art, an evening farmer’s a market/community event, vacant lot development, and increased parking.

Optimize Redhill and Newport Corridors: synchronize those traffic signals to improve traffic flow, underground power lines, and enact policy to address vacant/blighted lots. Tustin’s small-town charm and warmth stand out in Orange County. Austin wants to celebrate what makes Tustin such a great place to live.
