Big Step Towards Tustin's First Dog Park

Dog Park:

At the February 15, 2022 City Council meeting, the City Council authorized a supplemental appropriation of $90,000 from the Land Proceeds Fund (Fund 189) for costs related to design and public engagement for a new dog park at Tustin Legacy. The concept is slated for the Linear Park near Barranca and Redhill, adjacent to the Flight office complex and will include segregated spaces for large and small dog breeds. We have heard repeated requests from Tustin residents for a dog park, and we are taking action. The initial allocation of funds will support design concepts. Be on the lookout for a future council action regarding this long awaited amenity. The Lumbard's hope to see you out there with our family dog, Moose!

OC Animal Shelter: Did you know the City of Tustin worked with the OC Animal Care to open a new 10 acre animal shelter right here in Tustin (1630 Victory Road, Tustin, CA 92782)? Since its opening in 2018, the facility operations support Tustin, 13 of our neighboring cities, and unincorporated areas like North Tustin. We are proud to be home to a clean, safe, and welcoming center that provides state of the art care to animals of all kinds. Did you know OC Animal Care takes in thousands of dogs, cats, bunnies and other pets in Orange County each year? In addition to the daily feed, shelter and medical care provided to each pet at our shelter, OC Animal Care strives to be proactive in placing pets by offering monthly adoption events, working with hundreds of nonprofit rescue groups and encouraging our community members to become volunteers and foster caretakers.
